Paddock questions and answers
Questions worth asking before your first AI conversation.
Paddock is AI BDC software for car dealerships. These answers explain what the product does, what your store needs to configure, and what to verify in a demo.
What is Paddock?
Paddock is AI BDC software for car dealerships. It includes website chat, phone answering, text conversations, follow-up campaigns, and the dealership console where staff can review the work. The assistant’s name and greetings can be configured for the store.
If you are evaluating the product, start with a task rather than the assistant’s personality. Ask an inventory question, arrange a visit, then inspect the saved appointment and customer record. The conversation and the result should agree.
Does Paddock work across chat, phone, and text?
Yes. Paddock supports customer conversations across website chat, phone, and SMS. The assistant can use conversation history across those channels when the customer is identified. Staff can inspect that context in the console rather than starting a new record for every question.
Use a test customer in the demo to check identification and continuity. Start on a vehicle page, continue by text, and ask a related question by phone. Then review what the store can see and correct. Do not assume that a vendor’s channel list proves that identity and history work the way your store needs.
Where do vehicle answers come from?
Paddock answers inventory questions using the dealership’s records. Vehicle-page context helps identify the car a visitor is viewing, while inventory and availability checks support factual answers and bookings. Missing information should trigger a lookup or a handoff rather than an invented price.
Before launch, confirm your inventory source, update process, and how sold or unavailable vehicles are represented. Try a stock number with a missing detail during the demo. Fresh data is a setup and operating responsibility as well as a software capability.
Can the assistant book and change appointments?
Paddock checks availability and records supported appointments, including test drives. Booking behavior depends on the store’s enabled departments, rules, and availability. A useful demo includes an actual saved appointment, a reschedule, and a cancellation so your team can inspect each result.
Bring the appointment types you want to support and ask to see each workflow. Department questions, a request for a visit, and a confirmed booking are different outcomes. Parts and unusual requests may need a staff handoff rather than a scheduled slot.
Can a staff member take over?
Yes. Staff can review a conversation and take over from the console. The transcript and customer context help the team see what has been asked and what remains unresolved. Negotiations, complaints, and missing information should have an accountable human owner.
For phone workflows, verify your exact escalation arrangement. A saved task, a requested callback, and a live transfer are different actions. Ask to see the one you intend to use and decide who watches the work after hours.
What kinds of follow-up campaigns are available?
Paddock includes plays for lease maturity, purchase anniversaries, recalls, service winback, seasonal service, declined service recovery, quiet sales leads, missed visits, new customer welcome, and unanswered conversations. Your store can review the plan and preview the outreach.
Test eligibility, contact preferences, and the stop condition with a test customer before enabling a play. A customer reply should change what happens next. Your store should understand the plan and own its outreach practices, rather than treating a template as permission to contact every record.
Does Paddock integrate with my CRM, DMS, or website?
Compatibility needs to be checked for your actual setup. Do not infer a supported native connection from a general statement that software uses inventory or customer records. Bring the names of your systems, your data format, website access, and booking process to the demo.
Ask which records can be read or changed, where a booking is stored, how data is updated, and what happens when a connection is unavailable. A complete workflow demonstration is more useful than an integration logo. Paddock’s web chat uses an embeddable widget; installation should be tested on your site before launch.
What needs to happen before going live?
Confirm the store’s information, inventory source, enabled departments, hours, booking rules, assistant greeting, and handoff owners. Rehearse the customer journeys you intend to cover. Test the saved results and staff experience in addition to the assistant’s wording.
Choose a bounded rollout and a person responsible for reviewing it. Track unanswered requests, incorrect assumptions, booking issues, and staff rework. Your launch plan should say how the store handles an unexpected result and who decides when the workflow is ready to expand.
How much does Paddock cost?
Paddock provides a quote for the store’s scope rather than publishing a universal price. Chat, phone, texts, campaigns, and the console are part of the product. Bring rooftop count, channel volume, coverage needs, and the workflows you want to start with.
Ask for a written scope and identify usage assumptions, onboarding work, support, and any additional charges. Compare complete operating costs across products. The pricing page explains what information makes that comparison useful.
Does the ROI calculator guarantee results?
No. The calculator models an opportunity using the inputs you select. It does not establish measured Paddock performance or a guaranteed return. Real outcomes depend on your store’s demand, inventory, staffing, processes, and how the rollout is configured.
During a pilot, count inquiries, meaningful responses, bookings, attended appointments, and completed transactions separately. Record the baseline and reporting period. Appointment source attribution helps inspect a journey; it does not by itself prove that every associated sale was incremental.
